This memorial website was created to remember our dearest Jack Malone who was born in Canton, Ohio on January 5, 1950 and passed away on May 14, 2008. He will live forever in our memories and hearts.

Jack Malone, 58, of Metamora, passed away at 6:50 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at home.

Jack was born on January 5, 1950 in Canton, OH, a son of Jack and Norma Jean (Taggert) Malone. His father preceded him in death. He married Susan C. Connell on October 1, 1994 in Rosarita Beach, Mexico. She survives.

Jack is also survived by his mother, of San Diego, CA; son, Zach (Laurel) Malone of Longmont, CO; daughters, Melissa (Dave) Bowen of Anderson, SC and Jessica Malone of Santa Rosa, CA; step-children, Tyler and Michelle Toubeau of Metamora; grandsons, Trey and Hayden Bowen at home; sister, Lynette (John) Weeks of San Diego; and brother, Dan Malone of Carmel, CA.

Jack was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Peoria. For the last seven years, he was a cabinetmaker for Roecker Cabinets in Peoria. He was an amazing craftsman and jokingly referred to himself as “The Wood Doctor”.

Jack enjoyed listening to Big Band and Swing music, landscaping, spending time in his gardens, antiquing and boating on the Illinois River.

He and Susan enjoyed collecting antique salt and peppershakers together and have collected over 400 over the years.

Jack was a fan of the San Diego Charges and once had the opportunity to meet and play darts with the legendary Charger’s quarterback, Dan Fouts.

Jack always thought of others first. He was the best friend Susan ever had and was the love of her life.

A memorial visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Clary Funeral Home, 1625 W. Candletree Dr., in Peoria. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Memorial contributions may be made to the South Side Mission in Peoria.

Susan,

I just wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I am sorry I did not get a chance to meet Jack, but I know he must have been a wonderful man. Let me know if I can help you with anything.

Joan Malone Cousin May 16, 2008

To The Malone Family:

Jackie was a dear cousin with whom I shared many wonderful and comical moments. We knew each well in our younger years when he lived in Canton growing up. And after he moved to California, he and a friend and brother Dan came East one summer and moved into our downstairs recreation room. We created lots of memories together over the years. The Malone / Finke / Greer / Correll Cousins were a close clan. And Jack was one of the finest!

Jackie was a great comedian who exuded genuine warmth and kindness. We will all miss him.

All My Love and Deepest Sympathies,

Joan Malone

Hi Susan,

I am one of Jack's "Finke" cousins from Dayton.  I just wanted to let you know from me/us how terribly sorry we are.  Jack was one of my favorite cousins - I will always remember his jokes, his laughter , his love and the smile in his eyes.

While he will no doubt meet up with his Dad and all of the Malone clan - he will be missed terribly here on earth.

All my love to you and the family.

Love,

Kathy
